Carboplatin-Induced Hypersensitivity Reaction
We describe a 65-year-old female with relapsed ovarian cancer who developed a severe hypersensitivity reaction during the second cycle of carboplatin treatment. The patient developed respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome and hypotension, requiring admission to the intensive care unit.

We estimate that up to 60% of the patients we treated after extending the selection criteria for treatment would otherwise have been treated by cholecystectomy. Treatment was most successful in patients with many small stones (s1 cm diameter). The median time to clearance of stones in this group was seven months. This was shorter than would be expected with oral dissolution treatment alone, sug...
متن کاملImmunologic Evaluation of Ofloxacin Hypersensitivity
Quinolone hypersensitivity, most of which is immediate type, is rare but has increased in recent years. The pathogenic mechanisms underlying immediate reactions are not defined clearly. This study was aimed to observe the clinical characteristics of immediate hypersensitivity to ofloxacin and to investigate the pathogenic mechanism with detection of serum specific IgE to ofloxacin using an enzy...
متن کاملPrasugrel-Induced Hypersensitivity Skin Reaction
We report a case of hypersensitivity skin reaction to prasugrel. The patient exhibited a generalized skin rash after treatment with prasugrel, which was resolved after discontinuation of prasugrel and substitution to clopidogrel. Clopidogrel was successfully administered as an alternative to prasugrel without any signs of further hypersensitivity.

CASE REPORT A 76-year-old white woman presented with a 3-month history of a pruritic, diffuse morbilliform eruption consisting of erythematous papules and plaques with cigarette-paper scale coalescing to cover more than 80% body surface area (Fig 1). Based on clinical presentation, the initial differential diagnosis included a drug eruption or urticarial bullous pemphigoid. The patient’s amlodi...
